30 Days and counting...What's left to be done?

July 1, 2012.  11 Hampton Road is under contract and beyond the inspection stage and must close on or before August 1.  This means we'll be in our new home within 30 days!

So what remains to be done at Apple Tree Lane? There's a lot! In general, here's the list:

  • While the bedrooms are painted with 2 coats, the remaining interior walls and trim need one more coat of paint. That's a lot of painting.
  • The lighting needs to be completed including under cabinets, exterior lights and lamposts (if we opt for one).
  • The tile work needs at least a week to be completeted. We're still waiting for the accent tiles for the master bath.
  • The hardwood flooring, upstairs and downstairs needs to be installed, and then baseboards added.
  • The bedrooms need carpeting.
  • The island needs to be re-located back to the kitchen.
  • Granite countertops need to be finished and installed.
  • All the faucets, plumbing fixtures, thermostats etc. need to be installed.
  • Appliances need to be installed.
  • There's no gas in the propane tank.
  • Landscaping...Lots of landscaping.
  • We need a drive-way and a mailbox.
  • LANDSCAPING
Truly, there are 100's of little details not listed, but one can see that there's lots to do.

Much of the fun is furnishing the decks...

and front porch.
