After a short week when it seemed like little or nothing was accomplished the painting crew actually worked briefly over the weekend painting the heating registers (designer's white) and were back today painting the bedrooms with color (Embelished Blue, eggshell finish) [looks green to me]. They also painted the hall and guest bath our main color (Stonington Gray).

AH, the glass doors...
We had ordered 'obscura' glass for
the 15 light bedroom doors, but when they film came off
today, they turned out to be frosted glass. It's somewhat
like the look we were after, but not exactly.
Still, the effect of the light from the bedroom
windows warming the hallway IS exactly what we were
looking for. We may have them switched out to the obscura however. |

Meanwhile, Dean and Richard began placing and installing the
kitchen cabinets. We LOVE the varied and sometimes
dramatic grain of the Hickory. |

Here's the buffet. Glass doors with interior lighting and under cabinet
lighting are to follow, Love the grain. |

This is the island looking at the side the cooktop will be

Here's a close-up of the drawers...
