Shower tile progresses

The shower nears completion.  Note the thin strip of wood
about 3/4ths up the wall. This is a place holder for
1" green glass access tiles.
Also, green glass 4x4 tiles go into the inset.  This is a
shelf for hair products, razors etc.

Donnie completed the grout today
of the stone floor.

Donna's special shaving shelf is installed...
...and the tile is brought around the corner.

And the tile around the tub is laid and ready for grout.

The entryway tile is grouted a nice
choclate brown.

Tile work continues

Donnie is doing a teriffic job on the tile in the
Master Bath

Dean and Richard have completed all the fine wood working
except for the base boards which will be added after
the hardwood flooring is installed.

The bedrooms are all 3 painted and Keith began painting the
Man Cave today.

Ferris (The Russian Blue Cat) rates
his own special cat door to down stairs.
Thank you, Thing.
Donna checks out the new cat door.

The view from the guest bathroom.  A mistake to
be corrected by up and down cellulose blinds.

Choosing the granite...Master Shower and stairs.

Here is one of the two giant slabs of granite from Blue Rock Industries that will
make up the kitchen countertops and back splashes, island and bookcase
counter-tops as well.

Here's a close-up of the finish.

The shower tile is in and Donnies begins installation today.
Note the shelf in the right corner for female leg
shaving....

and in the ceter note the cutout shelf for
shampoos etc.
Leftover TimberTech boards were used to create a small
landing into the garage.

The risers and stringers were painted...

...and the treads were treated with polyurethane.

as well as the railing.
The island was dismantled and removed to one
of the bedrooms.  Can the wood flooring
be far behind!

The wood we brought over Saturday awaits
burning over the winter.

Color...Stones...Risers

Color (if grey is a color, and I think it is) was added to the livingroom
today.  It certainly makes the mantle snap out.

and the bedrooms got their 2nd coat.

The stone floor for the shower was installed
today....

...and it feels SO GOOD to the Feet.
The washer/dryer closet now has tile.

The stairs down begin to take shape.  The maple risers are installed
along with the trim, which needs to be painted before the treads are installed.

The view from te deck is very pleasant.

FLOORING!!! and more.

Donnie began laying the oversized tile for the entryway,
closet and pantry today.  Note the angle to accentuate
the tile and hardwood difference.

Tile in the guest bathroom was
begun today as well.

This is Donna's side of the walk-in master bedroom
closet with newly installed poles.

The end cabinet was incorrectly sized and had to be
replaced.  Tomorrow Blue Rock Inc. comes in to
measure and template the granite counter-tops.

As stroke of luck for us!  The original end cabinet mentioned
above fits perfectly in our hall and makes a nice transition
from dining/living space to sleeping space. Granite top to follow.

I really like the AV Closet.  Here the HDMI cables,
speaker wires, Time Warner cable input, WiFi Router, stereo
receiver, blu-ray player AND Radio Frequency Universal
Remote receiver go.  All behind an obscure
glass door.  It all means No Exposed Wires!
The mirror frame was added today.

as well as the black hardware for the drawers
and doors of the vanity.

...stood all the remaining doors (and some shelves)...

and spray painted them all.
Richard and Dean moved the saws etc, down to the basement.
Tomorrow they begin the stairs and "Man Cave".

On Saturday, we moved 4 cords of wood to the new house.
Rooney was Exhausted!
On Sunday, donna and I

Took turns mowing the back yard
for the first time.

Porch swing finally installled!

The front porch construction was completed today and the
porch swing installed.
Thanks to our wonderful neighbor Ellen for taking this
shot and emailing it over.  We're going to love the swing.

But Rooney's not too sure...
Meanwhile, the crown molding for the cabinets were completed.
The risers for the stairs were delivered.
The fabric samples of the furniture Donna
ordered arrived.
The ornamental braces were added and the
deck railings were completely installed.
The mantle is nearly complete.

The shelves were added, but they're the wrong ones.
Tempered glass shelves are on the way.
Finally, the facia board below the deck were installed addin another level of finish.
