Cabinets, trim painting and more

The kitchen cabinets were delivered today!  We love the hicory finish
but it's covered in plastic.

Along with the master bath vanity...
...and the granite countertop...

and the guest bathroom vanity and countertop.
The lazy Susan is placed in position.

Meanwhile, the study (Mancave) was turned into a painting room
where the floor trim was primed.
Rooney loves to help.

Chimney stone facing, Closet design and final insulation.

Matt was back today adding the stone
facing to the fireplace.
Looks nice we think.

Dean and Richard have a nice bright area to work in.

Rooney LOVES the deck!
Today we met with Craig Cooper for over an hour
to go through the closets and shelving.  It's one of
the things Rainbow Construction is best known for.
The insulation was completed today with the final
product being blown into the attic.
Everything is greening up nicely.  Still, were 2 months away from occupancy.

Say hello to Richard and Dean...

Say hello to Richard and Dean.  They are the finish carpenter's
who are doing a wonderful job on our house.  Below, you can
see the quality work and framing they've done already on the
doors that have been hung so far.
Here's the hallway showing the different style doors.  5-panel for utility
doors (closets, washer/dryer room, etc.) and 15-light doors with obscura
glass panes for the bedrooms.

Even un-finished, it's a pleasant little dining room.
Rooney inspects the sub-floor for the
tile in the bathrooms.  I think he approves.

Stuff and carpentry stuff 'Everywhere'.  Broken
Eggs to make an omelet....

The 5-panel double doors are kinda neat too I think.

Under Contract (Woo- Hoo) and "Git R Done" mode

Our builder, (hopefully) will soon be in "Git R Done" mode as we are now under contract for 11 Hampton Road, closing in late July!

In the meantime, Interior doors are delivered by Hammond lumber.

Here, Rooney inspects the doors to the
washer/dryer room.

We chose '15 light' glass panel windows for the bedrooms...
...and 5 panel doors for all the remaining
 interior doors.

Let there be LIGHTS...and large landscaping boulders

The dining room is aglow with light.

Now that the priming and painting is completed the electricians returned today and installed recepticals and switches to all the recessed lighting.

A  nice surprise today was Skip Murray's crew arriving with landscaping boulders and our first load of loam

The Takeuchi moves loam and landscape boulders
easily.

Here's a pile...

that becomes the base of the stairs for our deck.

Where will these end up?
From the rear, you can see the yard is being shaped
and the loam distributed.

Ceilings and walls - all painted in one day

The painters from C.H. Rosengren arrived
late Monday morning...

And by the end of the day had completedly painted the entire interior
including all walls and ceilings.

Watch a short introductory movie below:

Turtle Pond

They're hard to see, but there are 3 turtles in the pond (lower left and kind of shiny).

The propane tank was burried today.

The drywall guys finished the sanding today, and tomorrow the cleaners come in and vacuum up all the dust.  Wednesday, the electricians return to install swithces and exterior lighting fixtures.

Here's the link to Porter Drywall:
